About

Photography has been the passion of my life since the late sixties, when I was eighteen years old, I tried to shoot the old fishermen in the villages by the sea with my cheap 6×6 camera.
I started again taking pictures with patience and effort less than 15 years ago when I found in digital photography the same magical feeling I felt in revealing black and white images in the darkroom.

I am more committed to landscape photography because it allows me to fix the emotions I feel in front of the unfolding natural elements, in different seasons, with various weather and lights, in places near and far. My hope is to be able to transmit my emotions to those who have the desire and patience to observe my photographs.
I have collected in my web site a selection of pictures shot in places that impressed me for their beauty, their simplicity, the magic of a special light or by the fleeting human presence which stressed a specific and exclusive feature.
These past few years have been like a metaphorical journey into the world of landscape photography and its techniques, from early landscapes HDR (High Dynamic Range), to the double exposure up to coming to neutral density filters which draw up digital to analogical photography.
In the last years my life has been also full of real journeys around Italy and abroad. Some of these journeys were with my family, some others with friend photographers or alone. In each of these journeys, I tried to pay constant attention and focus on the interpretation of what I saw through the lens of my camera.
The leitmotives of my photography are water and land.
The water breaking on rocks, the rushing water of streams, the quiet one of the lakes, country ditches and swamps…
The lands arising from the foggy river countryside, the far and sunny land of outstation countries, the land standing out between the trees of the woods and forests, the ones fully covered by snow…
The water and the ground under the beautiful color of the sky, rendered as landscapes and natural elements are the living soul of my photography.
This website is dedicated to my family that so patiently endures my “absence”.
